Warren has a technical background in electrical engineering and a Diploma in Heavy Current Electrical Engineering. However, most of his career has been spent in the processing field, particularly in mining, chemicals and pulp and paper.
His expertise is in the highly specialized area of mixing technology and to this end he has travelled the world extensively. He was educated in South Africa, leaving high school with a University Entrance Certificate. However, he chose to do a tertiary education in the technical field, rather than in an academic environment. Accordingly, Warren completed his Engineering Diploma while working for an international electrical manufacturer, although he has not used this qualification much, since most of his career has been spent in mechanical and chemical engineering.
Warren has a successful and growing business in the Golden Ears Business Park in Pitt Meadows where they manufacture a range of specialized pumps and agitators for most processing areas. His business has been particularly successful in exporting to Mexico for the production of silver and gold. In her 28 year career in Pitt Meadows she has seen many changes. Initially the Co-op mainly served the agriculture sector. Over the years with changes in the use of farms and growth in residential areas, the Co-op’s clientele has also changed. Jacky believes that in order to stay in business change needs to be embraced, not feared.
She looks forward to working with Pitt Meadows Economic Development to offer support and ideas to other Pitt Meadows businesses to help them be successful and meet the community demands.
