Pitt Meadows has emerged as a regional commercial and retail hub for the area providing services not only to our residents, but also to the surrounding communities. We are the go to area for the North Fraser communities for shopping, dining and other commercial and retail development. Because of our positive and stable business climate, Pitt Meadows has attracted both regional and national companies from a variety of industries. There are several prime commercial and retail areas in Pitt Meadows located near major residential developments.
Both Meadow Town and Meadow Vale malls located off Lougheed Highway offer a diversity of commercial services so that residents and businesses can complete their personal business transactions right here in Pitt Meadows. Lougheed Highway (Highway 7), which runs from Port Moody to Mission, currently carries over 23,000 cars that pass by these retail centres every day.
There are additional highway commercial opportunities coming in 2012 with the opening of the Lougheed Corridor commercial area. This 250 acres area is currently in land use feasibility planning. Check back in spring 2011 to learn more about the development potential of this area.
