Pitt Meadows is one of the few areas in Metro Vancouver with over 200 acres of available contiguous business park and light industrial land, as well as build-to-suit development opportunities.
These prime locations offer quick access to Highway 1, three US border crossings, the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport, the CP Rail Intermodal Yard (Vancouver Intermodal Facility), Abbotsford International Airport, Vancouver International Airport and the Port Metro Vancouver – and with the completion of the South Perimeter Road in 2012, there will also be a direct link to the Deltaport.
Golden Ears Business Centre – Light Industrial Business Park
At the south end of Harris Road is a 95 acre development called the Golden Ears Business Centre. This large-scale industrial business park is minutes from the Golden Ears Bridge and Pitt Meadows Regional Airport.
The park will be the most diverse in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, offering up to1,500,000 square feet of build to suit opportunities, multi-tenant warehouse space from 2,650 square feet and free-standing facilities. This light industrial business park will become a hub for employment in Pitt Meadows. More info…
Pitt Meadows Regional Airport – YPK
With a breathtaking view of the Golden Ears Mountains to the north and bordered by the Fraser River to the south, the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport occupies a spacious 712 acre site comprised of three runways – the longest runway is 4,692 feet (approx. 1,420 metres) with a planned expansion to 5,000 feet (1,524 metres).
The airport also includes a float plane launch and dock, agricultural lands, aviation hangar sites and commercial development areas.
At this time, approximately 300 acres are available for aviation-related developments. Proposals for co-development projects with the airport are welcomed.
North Lougheed Commercial Corridor
This area adjacent to Lougheed Highway, is designated in the Official Community Plan (General Plan) for small, medium and potentially larger scale projects.
In October 2010, Pitt Meadows’s Mayor and Council approved city staff to facilitate a land use study looking at the future development opportunity of a 50.5 ha area. The study area is north of Lougheed Highway, east of Harris Road and runs east to Meadows Way. The site is bound to the north by a new road that recently received approval for construction from the Agricultural Land Commission called the North Lougheed Connector.
The study area is significant to Pitt Meadows as it could add additional commercial development opportunities to the community. Lougheed Highway currently has approximately 88,000 cars passing along it per day. The approval of the North Lougheed Connector Road opens the study site up to vehicular access from both the north and south, thereby increasing the overall usability of the land.
