Kate Zanon, CEO
Kate is the CEO of Pitt Meadows Economic Development Corporation (PMEDC) and the Director of Corporate and Business Services with the City of Pitt Meadows.
Kate was hired by the City of Pitt Meadows in fall 2009 as their first economic development officer and to set up the Pitt Meadows Economic Development Corporation. Kate has been affiliated with economic development and city government for over six years working in business retention, business attraction and community development.
Kate returned to BC in 2009 after spending 10 years in the United States. Most of the time spent in the US was in Phoenix, Arizona, where Kate worked in city leadership, economic development, planning, public relations and grants fostering and overseeing a variety of development projects, public and private initiatives and community partnerships. Kate held positions with the Town of Fountain Hills, the City of Scottsdale and Arizona State University. In Fountain Hills, Kate launched the community’s first business retention program and worked with the downtown business community to coordinate the Main Street approach to business development.
Kate has a diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies, a Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences in International Resource Systems and a Masters of Urban and Environmental Planning. Kate has attended the University of Waterloo economic development program and is currently working on completing both her certified economic developer and certified planner designations.
Lori Graham, Economic Development Coordinator
Lori joined the Pitt Meadows Economic Development Corporation team on a part-time basis in March 2010. Her work with the PMEDC includes research, marketing and communications. Lori brings a fresh and curious approach to each project that she is involved in. Prior to the formation of the PMEDC, Lori worked with the City of Pitt Meadows on various economic development projects.
She has a certificate in Community Economic Development earned through SFU and is attending working on completing her certified economic developer designation through the University of Waterloo.
Lori lived in Pitt Meadows from 1991 through 2008. She misses the sense of community that it offers, but feels fortunate to continue to be involved in the community's development through her work with the PMEDC.
Kristi Ferguson joined the Pitt Meadows Economic Development team in July 2013.
For over a decade Kristi has worked in communications for and with innovative, international multimedia companies, small business owners, event organizers and non-profit organizations. Since 2009 she has been blogging about local businesses and events.
Kristi’s roots are firmly grounded in the Pitt Meadows area, as she grew up here and most of her extended family remain in the area. She and her family presently reside in North Langley but spend a lot of time on the North side of the Golden Ears Bridge!
As it reflects her passion for supporting community and local businesses, Kristi is excited to be the newest addition to the Pitt Meadows Economic Development team.
