The PMEDC is proactive in promoting, pursuing and supporting economic development opportunities that are beneficial to building a stronger business community in Pitt Meadows, in partnership with:
City of Pitt Meadows – The PMEDC works in partnership with the City of Pitt Meadows and local businesses to promote community prosperity and sustainability. We achieve this by delivering on our mandate to lead the City’s economic development efforts through attracting and retaining business investment.
Invest North Fraser – Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Mission are defined by their spectacular natural beauty, affordable land, diverse workforce and accessibility to major roads, border crossings and airports. These communities have it all including a lifestyle that is second to none – live, work and play within minutes of each other.
Chamber of Commerce – The Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows Chamber of Commerce represents and promotes the members of the organization. At the same time it protects the interests of business. The organization's mandate is to continue to offer local business all the support they need to grow and prosper.
Tourism Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows – Our communities’ approach to tourism development is based on the fundamental principle that any tourism initiatives, and the industry as a whole, must benefit our communities from an economic, environmental and social standpoint.
Urban Development Institute - The Urban Development Institute, a non-profit association of the development industry in British Columbia, promotes wise and efficient urban growth, good planning and good development practices, affordable housing and high quality commercial and industrial developments.
Metro Vancouver Commerce – As the main western terminus of Canada's transcontinental highway and rail routes, Metro Vancouver, which includes Pitt Meadows, is North America's gateway for Asia-Pacific trade. It is also Western Canada’s and one of the nation's largest industrial centres.
LINX BC – An economic development collaboration that seeks to discover business investment opportunities in British Columbia. LINX BC offers many advantages to businesses looking to locate within British Columbia including being a single point of contact for efficient follow-up, sector-specific first stage investment reports on the member communities and up-to-date research on opportunities and emerging markets.
Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade Canada (DFAIT) – This department of the federal government works with a range of partners inside and outside government to achieve increased economic opportunity and enhanced security for Canada and for Canadians at home and abroad.
Economic Development Association of BC (EDABC) – The EDABC is committed to helping their communities and your business thrive in a growing economy.
Ministry of Jobs, Tourism & Skills Training (JTST) – The Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation manages key lines of government service that help create the economic prosperity needed for the success of families and communities across the province. This means seizing the opportunities and responding to the challenges of a globalized economy in order to create new jobs, defend existing ones and position the province for long-term growth.
Province of BC - BC Jobs Plan - Through the PMEDC's partnership with Maple Ridge & Mission under the regional Invest North Fraser partnership, the three communities were chosen by the Province of BC to participate in the BC Jobs Plan community pilot project. The BC Jobs Plan aims to create long-term jobs and investment across the province by building on key competitive advantages. To achieve this, the provincial government is supporting the Invest North Fraser region in developing projects that will result in long-term benefits and boost job creation. The North Fraser communities are the first pilot region to partner with the BC Government on the BC Jobs Plan.
The PMEDC welcomes the business community and other organizations to support the Corporation's efforts through the establishment of sponsorships that will provide the PMEDC with the resources, including revenue and/or in-kind contributions, to enhance business events, programmes, activities and services to the community.
Types of sponsorships include, but are not limited to, the following:
Sponsorship for events will be based on event needs and total event budget (including related overhead). PMEDC will endeavour to have a minimum of two sponsors contributing either financially or in-kind to each event. There will be no sponsorship minimum.
Sponsors will have the opportunity to commit to sponsor a series of events. Since the budget for each event in an event series may not been known at the time of securing the sponsorship, The PMEDC will ensure that total sponsorship does not exceed budget. There will no sponsorship minimum.
